Good to know
Arrival time: If no other time has been agreed in the accommodation contract, the course participants should arrive at the youth hostel at 16.30 on the first day.
End of the course: The course will end at 11.00 on the fifth course day.
Private lessons: Can be booked at the time of registration or directly at the course location.
Accommodation contract: After you have made a reservation, we will immediately send you an accommodation contract.
Certificate: At the end of the course, we will issue every participant with a certificate at the course location.
Teaching: The number of agreed lessons is binding. Courses for adults and adolescents are held separately. Excursions in French are regarded as teaching time.
Responsibility and supervision obligation: The participants are not supervised outside the agreed lessons or the excursions forming part of the course. Parents are requested to accompany adolescents during their attendance at the language course.
Visitors to lessons: The group remains together during the lessons. During excursions, the participation of the accompanying persons is possible on payment of a contribution towards expenses.
Participants should bring along: Casual leisurewear, rain jacket, own teaching aids, dictionary and favourite books (if available), writing implements, Swiss Youth Hostels membership card (can also be purchased at the course location),half-fare card or GA (general subscription) of Swiss Federal Railways.
Meals: Full board and snacks are included in the course fee. Would vegetarians please inform the warden at the time of their arrival.
Your local partners: The individual youth hostel warden is responsible for accommodation, meals and issuing of the contracts. The teachers are responsible for the quality of the lessons and are on hand at all times to answer your questions.

Nicolas Sarraj holds the post of Project Manager for Methodology and Didactics in our courses. He is a language lecturer at SAL, the Further Education College for Journalism, Translation and Language Teaching. Mr. Sarraj works as a consultant for teaching aid publishers in the Cantons of Zurich and Berne.

The five following course directors were carefully chosen by Nicolas Sarraj. They all took a university course in their French mother tongue. They all graduated with a degree and have many years of professional experience as language teachers.

Bettina Schmid is the co-initiator of this project. She is a language teacher with great experience in the commercial field and regarding vocational school-leaving certificates. She holds a state-approved language and translation degree, and a qualification from the Swiss Federation for Adult Learning (SVEB). Mother tongue: French |

Esther Beck is a dynamic and conscientious employee. Thanks to her excellent language skills, she is an outstanding and motivated course director for Swiss Youth Hostels and at different language schools in the Zurich area. During her training as a translator and language teacher with a state-approved degree and SVEB (Swiss Federation for Adult Learning) qualification, she impressed our adult and adolescent course participants.
